Kalindra

Discovery of a New Home

As the War of the Gods began, Bahamut had his champion, the Gyrtu Kyrin (Elder Servant) take the gods’ children to safety. The champion, Nelthalen Lumix, gathered all he could on a fleet, sailing east and away from Karnegrond where the Betrayer’s held their home.

East and further east they sailed, past any lands known by mortal kind. Finally, they reached rock, coming upon what would be known as “Kalindra”. Most of them made their way across the western part of the lands, venturing past the mountains. In a seemingly desolate mesa, where the earth resembled the shape of Bahamut’s foot, they made their home.

During their journey some split off into other areas, while others continued onwards to more fruitful lands than the mesa and the neighbouring desert.

Factions and Locations

Palar Dynasty

The settlement in the mesa recieved the name Endeemuhr (Talon’s Rest) and became the capitol of Kalindra’s largest nation, Palar. It is led by the descendents of Bahamut’s first champion, carrying on the title of emperor and Gyrtu Kyrin. A selection of other clan heads have a seat in the Palarian council, with the Gyrtu Kyrin as its head. Clan Ontrix and Vincix stand with the ruling Clan Palax as the largest ones, with some lesser clans spread throughout the Dynasty.

Though Palar’s ties to the Platinum Dragon remain strong, their primary language is Common, with Draconic being second most used, as Dragonborn stand as the largest part of the populace. All prime deities are officially welcome, but followers of other deities than Bahamut might find themselves
outnumbered within the capital.

ENDEEMUHR
The capitol of Palar, Endeemuhr is settled in the center of a mesa resembling a dragon’s footprint. The city consists of an upper part on the surface of the mesa, a middle area with buildings carved in or built out from the mesa walls, and a lower section on the bottom of the mesa. Certain sections of the city and its surroundings have been cultivated to give growth and greenery even in the harsh sun.

The city is home to Ragoth University, providing teaching in all fields, but with a special focus on primal magic and transmutation. Endemuuhr has maybe the finest temple to Bahamut in all of Safira, Temple Seyr. The upper city is also home to a winghaven, where airships load and unload their wares.

While the upper city enjoys a rich lifestyle, the lower city slums struggle with their day-to-day lives.

CAESARYX ACADEMY
East of Endeemuhr, on the peak of Mount Caesaryx, lies Caesaryx Academy, a semiautonomous section of Ragoth University dedicated to the study of the mountain’s blue mineral under the same name. Existing first as an astronomy, it readjusted its activity after the discovery of Caesaryx’s innate magical properties.

Eshana Confederacy

Though the largest, Palar would not be the only nation on Kalindra. Some of the migrants remainig on the western coast, and as Palar found ocean to the south, they lost interest in the western coasts. These coasts became the Eshana Confederacy, agnostic and bountiful due to the common rainfall and rivers from the Majeir mountains. Eshana is ruled by electives (most commonly high-ranking influential merchants) from its three states.

OSHIUM
keep to the landmass north of Eshana’s archipelago Oshium is positioned east of the Majeir Mountain with protection from much of the western sea by the island state past them. It is Eshana’s most productive state, making most of its trade by mining from the mountains, and farming from their grasslands. The Oshium people are as proud as the rock is hard, and are often the slowest to convince in confederacy business.

USTIUM
The Ustium people live south of Oshium, with their loose borders just north of the mountain gorge to Palar. With their massive forests and jungles, their largest work is in lumber, though they are close to equally known for their metalwork from Oshium’s mines. Some say Ustium folk are as wild as their lands, but these rumor-spreaders quickly learn to keep quiet.

WESIUM
Just off Kalindra’s mainland lies Wesium. They mostly deal in fish, but have learnt to navigate the waters much better than the rest of Eshana, and have a penchant for avoiding pirates. Weishun are few, and have a more laid-back approach to both life and Kalindra’s politics, unless there’s coin involved.

Xephril

Unknown does not necessarily mean uninhabited, as the migrators would soon discover. migrators would soon discover. The Xephril people have lived on Kalindra since long before the War of the Gods, and intend to continue doing so. They are said to be the ancient protectors of the lands, and can be found in smaller groups all across the continent and some of its islands.

Not believing in strict government, the Xephril live as spread out communities, interacting with their neighbours and preferring to trade in goods rather than coin. They have learnt that partial integration and cooperation with Palar and Eshana opens up more possibilities, but are self-sufficient and quite independent.

The Xephril people are split into multiple groups with two of them being the northern Xephron and the eastern Xephras. Xephron people are in special attunement with the colder climate and the Xephras hold a unique connection to the mountains. They all go under the common name, using the group names to clarify and specify, or when interacting with each other.
